Inelastic molecular collisions: Applications of theoretical methods to problems in relaxation phenomena, laser operation, and combustion kinetics
Abstract
Practical theoretical methods are developed and implemented for handling molecular collision problems and subsequently a study was made of the important processes which influence collision rates and a computation made of rate information suitable for gas laser and combustion kinetics modeling studies. The study focuses on CO and HF molecules, which are of practical interest as molecular lasers and of theoretical interest for discerning the role of rotation processes in vibrational relaxation.
