ESTEC Digital Interface Circuit - EDIC
Abstract
An interface circuit, EDIC, is presented, the performance and flexibility of which make it very attractive for most command interfaces in spacecraft. First, the circuit itself and its operation are described in detail in order to give a thorough understanding of its basic features. Then, its performances are presented, resulting from theoretical analysis and tests, mostly related to noise immunity, which is the key parameter for interface circuits. Several applications are described showing how EDIC can be used in various configurations and how additional circuitry enlarge its possibilities. A complete set of electrical specifications is presented in the Annex.
