GEOS electromagnetic cleanliness test methods and facilities
Abstract
To meet the most severe electromagnetic cleanliness requirement of any European satellite so far, GEOS was required to achieve very low interference levels over a wide range of frequencies. In order to demonstrate that the satellite was compatible with the experimenter's requirements, new test facilities were built to attenuate ambient field levels far below those normally occurring at the earth's surface, and special test methods were devised.
