Josephson A/D converter development
Abstract
This report describes the first year of an effort to demonstrate an ultra-high-speed analog-to-digital converter using superconducting electronics. Fabrication methods capable of producing a complete eleven layer circuit have been developed. Testing techniques enable 70 ps risetime signals to be sent onto or off of a chip. Experimental and theoretical characterizations of superconducting striplines are in good agreement.
