Holography in non-destructive testing
Abstract
The article outlines the basic principles of holography as applied to nondestructive testing. Particular attention is given to the identification of stressed areas, the study of debonds in laminated structures, and vibration analysis. Both continuous-wave and pulsed-laser holography are described and a detailed procedure for obtaining a hologram using a helium-neon laser with a known coherence length is presented.
