Space Sextant Autonomous Navigation and Attitude Reference System - Flight hardware development and accuracy demonstration
Abstract
The development and design of the Space Sextant Autonomous Navigation and Attitude Reference System (SS-ANARS) are reviewed. The configuration is described with reference to the base and yoke assembly, measurement head, telescope, electronics and software specifications, telescope construction, telescope gimbals, and encoding-disk compensation. System performance, as indicated by test results, is considered.
