Voltage-controlled oscillator with time-delay feedback
Abstract
A voltage-controlled oscillator with time-delay feedback is analyzed. The results indicate that by properly choosing system parameters, both low noise from the degeneration and frequency agility from the periodic response can be obtained in one source. The conditions for system stability and the amount of noise degeneration are expressed in terms of system parameters. Effects of different parameters on system stability and noise degeneration are discussed in detail. It is shown that the open-loop gain should be chosen as large as possible for good noise degeneration, and the amplifier-filter bandwidth should be chosen to meet the stability condition.
