Characterization of a non-linear Satellite Transistor Amplifier in a Single-Channel-Per-Carrier Link
Abstract
The test setup and technique devised to assess the performance of a satellite power amplifier for multicarrier operation are described. The following characteristics were measured: (1) single carrier characteristic, (2) carrier to intermodulation power ratio for multicarrier operation, (3) current ripple on the power supply line, and (4) S/N and BER in a link simulation. The tests make it possible to determine the optimal operating mode under specified boundary conditions.
