Numerical simulation of propagation and impingement upon surfaces of supersonic jets
Abstract
It is shown that first-order monotonic shock-capturing techniques are an effective means of calculating supersonic jet problems. The most convenient and accurate finite difference schemes for numeric integration of gasdynamic equations are evaluated on the basis of an analysis of their properties. Several problems in propagation and impingement of supersonic underexpanded and overexpanded jets are selected to demonstrate the performance of the schemes.
