Symbolic computerized derivation of equations of motion
Abstract
Dynamical investigations of multibody systems based on symbolic equations of motion result in faster and more accurate solutions compared with investigations based on numerical formalisms. A matrix method is presented for the derivation of equations of motion for ordinary and general multibody systems. The method is combined with a recently developed index coding for symbolic computer manipulations. A complete software using FORTRAN IV is discussed and applied to examples.
