Filtering precise time signals
Abstract
The problem of integrating together signals from a local frequency standard and a highly-stable remote reference can be dealt with within the framework of complementary filter theory. An example using Omega navigation signals as the remote reference is considered, and a sample simulation for a five-day period is presented. The simulation indicates that the filtering scheme can be used to enhance both the long- and short-term stability of the local frequency standard.
