Astron type equilibrium in the absence of an applied magnetic field
Abstract
It is shown that the Vlasov-Maxwell equations predict the existence of rotating layer equilibria (rigid rotor) in the absence of an external magnetic field, provided that the density of the layer exceeds a critical density.
