Point-to-point satellite systems at 20/30 GHz
Abstract
The use of 20/30 GHz band is very promising for implementing point-to-point satellite circuits competitive with equivalent terrestrial circuits. New techniques, such as multibeam satellite antennas, SS-TDMA and space diversity, need to be developed. As concerns Europe, traffic requirements such to justify the use of 20/30 GHz bands will exist at the end of the 80s, and an experimental program in the early 80s is considered necessary.
