Synthesis of thin-wire antennas assembled from arbitrarily interconnected straight segments
Abstract
The paper presents a procedure for synthesizing thin-wire antennas consisting of arbitrarily located and interconnected straight segments. The procedure incorporates an optimization technique which modifies certain antenna parameters, in order to minimize a convenient performance index. A number of numerical examples is presented, demonstrating synthesis of various antennas. Input admittance, radiation patterns, and broadband properties are considered. Some of the results were verified experimentally.
