Precise measurements of antenna characteristics using a fiber optical link
Abstract
A fiber optical link has been developed for precise antenna measurements. The transmitter is a direct modulated semiconductor laser. The converter is a PIN-diode. The advantage of the link is that the normal antenna feed line is substituted by a dielectric fiber which has negligible influence on the characteristics of the antenna. The link has been tested in a radio anechoic chamber.
