Calculation of a cylindrical electrostatic analyzer
Abstract
Approximate integration of the Lagrange equations is performed for a cylindrical electrostatic analyzer in the case of a twodimensional central field and small deviations of particle trajectories from the equilibrium orbit. The trajectory equation, the dispersion and the focusing conditions are obtained as a function of initial energy and angle of input of particles into the analyzer.
