Amplification-saturated dynamic holograms
Abstract
An experimental study is presented of the feasibility of using saturation of amplification for the recording of dynamic holograms in a solution of polymethine dye. The hologram-recording process in the inversion medium is accompanied by amplification of the intensity of interference waves and by the simultaneous occurrence and amplification of additional diffracted light beams (i.e., self-diffraction in an amplifying medium). Consideration is given to the dependence of diffraction efficiency on the pumping power and the recording field.
