A series method for the solution of laminar boundary layers on moving surfaces
Abstract
A general series method is reviewed for the solution of laminar, two-dimensional boundary layers on moving surfaces. Various methods for the determination of the radius of convergence of such series are discussed. Three illustrative examples are given, namely the vapour boundary layer induced by film condensation on a vertical plate and the outer layer boundary layers produced by natural convection at high Prandtl number on horizontal and vertical plates.
