Abstract
The plastic analysis of shear in concrete is considered along with the numerical solution of boundary value problems through integral equations, the motion of particles in flows of nonNewtonian liquids, aspects of nonlinear wave propagation, gyroscope mechanics, problems related to the magnetohydrodynamics of liquid metals, interval mathematics, recent developments in the area of nonlinear spline functions, the characteristics of optimality criteria methods in the design of elastic structures, and the numerical solution of certain applied problems. Attention is also given to an exact mathematical solution of the problem of tops rising by friction, a digital modelling method for tall buildings, the excitation of an elastically embedded rigid circular cylinder by a harmonic Rayleigh wave, a numerical procedure for the optimization of stress concentrations, remarks concerning the path test for nonconforming finite elements, the dynamic response of a semiinfinite plate subjected to steadily increasing boundary force, and the equations of motion for arbitrary rigidbody systems.
