Digital transmission over troposcatter paths
Abstract
A description of the troposcatter channel is presented. The principles of operation of troposcatter are examined and the channel is considered as a linear time-dependent filter, taking into account the correlations of the system functions and planar and frequency-selective fading. The transmission of digital signals in systems, for which the modulation bandwidth is smaller than the correlation bandwidth, is considered. Attention is given to diversity and combination procedures, and fast digital transmission over troposcatter paths.
