Theory of bubble-boiling crisis in a large volume
Abstract
On the basis of experimental data on crisis of boiling in a large volume, a new physical interpretation of boiling crisis is proposed, which is justified by an analysis of the dynamics of boiling of a thin liquid layer situated above vapor conglomerates. It is shown that the onset of crisis is related not only to the hydrodynamic situation at the heating surface, but also to thermal processes in the thickness of the heater.
