An interferometer for determining the modulation transfer function of the atmosphere
Abstract
A description is given of the optical design of a coherence interferometer for deriving the atmospheric modulation transfer function from the contrast of interference fringes recorded photographically. Polaris serves as the light source. The quality of the telescope optics has no effect on the measured contrast.
