On the evolution, persistance, instability, regeneration and disapperance of vortex rings
Abstract
A detailed description was made of the successive phases occuring during the evolution of vortex rings in a fluid. Theoretical conditions of stability and instability are studied in connection with variations in energy. An analogy is made with acoustical and luminous phenomena.
