Evaluation of EPSILAM-10 mic Substrate material
Abstract
The suitability of the EPSILAM-10 material as substrate for microwave microstrip circuits, taking into account the anisotropy in the dielectric constant, is studied. As a theoretical tool, a computer program for the calculation of line impedances was used. To evaluate the application of the material 50 ohm lines, coupled lines directional couplers, hybrid type power dividers, and class-C transistor power amplifiers were designed, manufactured and tested. The main conclusion is that the material is suitable for use in microwave microstrip applications, where high tolerances are not mandatory (e.g. for transistor matching networks or couplers to be used in signal samplers).
