Error probability in binary digital FM transmission systems
Abstract
The information presented in this report concerns the analysis of error probability in various binary, digital, frequency modulated (FM) transmission systems operating in the presence of additive noise. The actual error producing mechanism, associated with digital FM modulation techniques, is analyzed. This report will aid the design engineer in determining the advantages and disadvantages associated with each type of modulation and the particular advantages of using angular feedback demodulation of frequency shift keying (FSK) by means of phase-lock loops.
