Abstract
Papers are presented on precision pointing and tracking systems for laser space communications, sun-pump and lamp-pump Nd:YAG lasers for space communications, high-speed communications photomultiplier detectors, diversity arrays for optical communications through atmospheric turbulence, and 2-Gbps electrooptic modulators for visible lasers. Consideration is also given to multimode switching components for multiterminal links, LED driver and PIN diode receiver ICs for digital fiber optic communications, and GaAs MESFET for high speed optical detection.
