Laterally emitted light from a hollow cathode He-Cd laser
Abstract
A study of the variation of the laterally emitted light from a He-Cd hollow cathode laser at 537.8 nm as a function of the discharge current, is presented. The curve is a straight line whose slope changes when the discharge current reaches the threshold value. From the results of such measurements the ratio of the lifetimes of the two levels can be obtained.
