Detection of a quasi-harmonic signal of unknown frequency in noise of unknown power and spectrum shape
Abstract
The paper considers the detection of a sinusoidal signal on a background of white or nonwhite noise of unknown power; the frequency of the sinusoidal signal is within a wide range of possible values and is unknown. It is assumed that the signal frequency range can be discretized into resolution intervals; the reception is assumed to occur in either incoherent or Rayleigh channels. The analysis is conducted on the basis of the statistical principle of invariance.
