Investigation of an antenna with an open dielectric microwave resonator
Abstract
The principles of using an open dielectric resonator as the radiating component of a miniature microwave antenna are examined. An energy approach is used to determine conditions of matching and maximum microwave transmission for such a resonator. The energy relationships have a general character, as they are represented through coupling coefficients which can be calculated for arbitrary feed lines. Good matching can be achieved by combining the functions of emission and frequency selectivity.
