Reception of pulsed optical signals in communication channels with scattering
Abstract
Attention is given to the optimization of the temporal processing of intensity-modulated pulsed optical signals that have passed through a cloud layer. The criterion of optimization involves achievement of a minimum mean probability of error in the reception of a single signal. Signal distortion is evaluated on the basis of a statistical model describing radiative transfer in scattering media.
