Possibility of laser-Doppler measurement of aerosol size distribution in turbulent flow
Abstract
The paper considers the use of a laser-Doppler velocimeter to determine aerosol particle size distributions in the turbulent atmosphere. The method is based on differences of time lag between particles of different size relative to velocity pulsations of the turbulent medium. The effectiveness of the technique is studied with regard to normalized Doppler spectra for different percentages of particle entrainment.
