Dependence of losses to microwave radiation on degree of conversion of polymethyl methacrylate
Abstract
The dependence of absorption in the range 52-79 GHz on the amount of residual monomer contained in a polymer matrix was investigated. The absorption is characterized by a straight line of slope K = 0.021 reciprocal cm per percent methylmethacrylate. The rotational relaxation time of polar monomer molecules was determined on the basis of a Debye model to be 3 times 10 to the -11th sec.
