Theory of diffraction of electromagnetic waves on two cylinders
Abstract
A strict solution is obtained for the diffraction of a plane Eand H-polarized electromagnetic wave on two parallel cylinders made of, in the first case, infinitely conducting, and in the second, ideal dielectric material. The method consists in transforming the functional equation for the unknown coefficients of the multipole spectrum into an equivalent system of linear algebraic equations. Numerical results are obtained for the main diffraction characteristics, which are then compared with some experimental data.
