High-speed analog-to-digital converter
Abstract
The paper describes a high-speed analog-to-digital converter designed according to the principle of digit weighting in which conversion is effected through a series of successive tests by comparing the measured voltage with reference voltages of different magnitudes. The relative error in the establishment of the output voltage of the code-voltage converter is estimated at 0.21%, and the total relative error is estimated to be 0.66%. The time for one operation consisting of comparing the measured voltage with a reference voltage is 68 nsec; the total time for recovering the code of the measured voltage is about 612 nsec.
