Nuclear structure effects in pion double charge exchange

Pion double charge exchange in the ¹⁸O( π⁺, π^-) ¹⁸Ne reaction is studied and compared to the experimental data. Results prove to be very sensitive to the antisymmetry of the nuclear wave function and details of the nuclear surface.
