Detection of plasma fluctuations using a homodyne method with a CO2 laser
Abstract
The paperr describes an optical homodyne arrangement for the analysis of scattered beams from a CO2 laser over a wide range of solid angles. The capabilities of the system have been studied with a device which simulates plasma waves: an acoustooptic modulator which uses a germanium crystal. Angular distributions of scattered light are compared for homodyne reception and direct detection.
