Diffusion, heat-pumped D2-HCl-Ar and D2-HCl-He gasdynamic lasers
Abstract
The present study calculates the gain of gas flow for the case when HCl is added to a supersonic flow of deuterium and diluent (Ar or He) in a region of low flow temperature (about 110 K). The effect of anharmonicity of the HCl molecule on the gain of the active medium is also examined. It is found that the gain always exceeds 0.003 per cm for a heat-pumped gasdynamic laser with the mixture D2-HCl-M (M = Ar or He) for an initial temperature of 2200 K, initial pressure of 75 atm, a composition of 2% HCl + 30% D2 + 68% M over broad ranges of prescribed flow constants.
