Motion of deflected front of a shock wave in a nonuniform medium
Abstract
The paper identifies the conditions of instability of a plane shock front, propagating in a medium of decreasing density in the case of an arbitrary equation of state. The development of front curvature is studied, taking account of nonlinear corrections. The propagation of a curved shock front in a turbulized medium is considered and a generalized formula for the arbitrary equation of state is presented.
