Canis Major OB1, Canis Major R1, NGC 2353, and W Canis Majoris.
Abstract
A distance modulus of V0 - Mv is obtained from uvbyfi observations of a selection of members of CMa OBi. CMa Ri consists of members of CMa OBi contaminated by a few foreground stars. CMa OBi is a very young association, comparable to the very young cluster NGC 6383 and if it contains the N Variable W CMa, the luminosity of the variable is near - 7 . The cluster NGC 2353, often referred to as the nucleus of CMa OBi, may not exist as a physical group. Key words: stellar associations-photometry-variable star
