The near infrared nightglow continuum
Abstract
New measurements of the nightglow continuum near 8500 Å show the brightness to be comparable with that in the visible and to be below 1 R/A; there does not appear to be the marked increase of intensity with wavelength assumed in some recent theoretical treatments.
