Test and evaluation of a dry tuned strapdown gyroscope in a system environment
Abstract
Methods of testing a dry tuned strapdown gyro in a system environment are studied. In particular, the specifics of calibrating the gyro in a system context is developed, and methods for testing the gyro for dynamical effects are considered. Basic static and dynamic model equations are given. The rate test consists of creating data tapes and fields, executing the calibration equations, creating constants tapes, and entering the constants tape into the system. Data reduction is discussed. Specific tests for the major dynamic effects are described which are based on use of an integral digital computer.
