X-ray emission from the companion to V861 Sco.
Abstract
Periodic eclipses of X-ray emission from the companion of V861 Sco are described and are attributed to a dense gas stream in the system. A true eclipse of the X-ray source by the primary star was detected by the Copernicus satellite and is reported. Simultaneous ground-based ultraviolet and X-ray measurements of the system are discussed.
