Quasicyclic Light and Colour Variations in Three T Tauri Stars
Abstract
Quasicyclic light and colour variations are found for the stars SY Cha, TW Cha and VZ Cha, with cycles of 6.2 days, 8 days and 7 days, respectively. It is shown, that the photospheric temperature of the three T Tauri type stars must be very low, in agreement with spectroscopic observations. From the location in the HR-diagram it follows, that the stars are of remarkably low mass. Possible mechanisms for the quasicyclic behaviour are discussed.
