Radio Spectral Indices of Cluster Galaxies
Abstract
Spectral indices were derived by combining flux density measurements of galaxies in the Virgo Cluster at 21 cm, 11 cm, 6 cm, and 3 cm. The number of galaxies observed in at least two of these frequencies and detected in at least one is 69. Most galaxies are rather weak, with large relative uncertainties in the flux densities and correspondingly large uncertainties of the spectral indices. There is, however, no indication that the distribution of spectral indices depends on the flux densities. It follows that for all frequencies the flux-density scales of the observations do not seem to deteriorate markedly for very weak sources.
