The quantum-statistical theory of ring lasers
Abstract
The work examines the fundamentals of quantum statistics and its application to the study and development of ring lasers. Methods for calculating beat signals as a function of different laser system parameters are developed. Results are used to suggest a method for increasing the beat frequency stability of ring lasers. Some particular applications are considered, including a ring laser gyroscope.
