X-ray K-spectra of scandium and gallium in scandium gallides
Abstract
An X-ray spectral analysis was carried out of the emission and absorption K-spectra of scandium and gallium in the pure metals and in Sc5Ga3 and ScGa. It is shown that in the transition from pure Sc and Ga to the gallides there occurs a transformation of the K(beta 2.5) bands and absorption K-edges of both components. Formation of scandium gallides is accompanied by fundamental changes in the electronic structure of the outer energy bands of the components.
