Unsteady MHD-convection in a vertical circular channel
Abstract
In the present paper, an exact solution is obtained to the problem of unsteady MHD-convective motion of a viscous incompressible conducting fluid in a vertical circular channel situated in an azimuthal magnetic field generated by the longitudinal current flowing in the fluid. The unsteady and steady distributions of the velocity, temperature, and induced-magnetic fields are plotted for various Raleigh and Hartmann numbers. The monotonic and vibrational instabilities (of motion) are studied for open and closed channels.
