Process control and data acquisition in the case of the SOUSY-VHF radar installation
Abstract
The SOUSY-VHF radar installation considered produces under conditions of maximum transmission power and resolution (100 m) coded digital data at a mean rate of 500,000 to 1 million complex numbers per second. The signals must be filtered and decoded before they can be statistically analyzed. The equipment used for the process control and data acquisition operations is discussed, taking into account a minicomputer with real-time and file-manager execute system, standard periphery, the analog-digital converter, a radar controller, a preprocessor, and antenna control devices. The radar controller controls the synchronous radar cycle and can generate phase-coded signals. The preprocessor reduces the data rate of 4MW/s in the case of the AD-converter by a factor of a thousand.
