Laser ring amplifier with a two-photon absorbent
Abstract
Energy balance equations are used to analyze a laser ring amplifier with a two-photon absorbent inside the resonator. Pulse development is analyzed for different parameters of input pulse and amplifier. The following possibilities are established: (1) the pulse can be shortened or lengthened, (2) the pulse power can be smoothed and stabilized, (3) the pulse can be profiled into quasi-rectangular or two-step profiles. Preliminary experimental results are presented.
