A numerical study on the flow field in a wall attachment amplifier. I - In the case of no vent, one output port closed
Abstract
A simplified model with no vent and one closed output port has been used for some numerical computations and visualized experiments at Reynolds numbers up to 2000 in various flow rate ratios of control flow to main jet. Numerical solutions by finite-difference method include an up-wind difference scheme for the convection term of a basic equation and indicate good agreement with the experimental results by hydrogen bubble method and tuft method. These investigations have clarified stream lines, equivorticity lines, velocity distribution, separation point, reattachment point and thickness of attached vortex in the present model.
